Beloved Star Pat Finn, Known For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.
American actor Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved television series such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has died aged 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in LA on Monday having undergone cancer treatment beginning in 2022, according to media reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his family stated in a message.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable TV Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he played the brother of the main character.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous popular shows, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series over nearly a decade.
His work in movies encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A Life in Improv
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored countless students during his career and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, fellow actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared online.
The actor is survived by his partner Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
