Democrats Disclose Newest Batch of Jeffrey Epstein Photos as DOJ Deadline Nears

The Congressional oversight panel has published a batch of around 70 images from the estate of deceased convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

This represents the third such publication from a larger collection of more than 95,000 photos the panel has obtained from Epstein's holdings. It contains photographs of quotes from the novel Lolita scrawled across a female's body, and obscured images of female international passports.

This action occurs mere hours before the 19 December cut-off for the DOJ to release all documents connected to its investigation into Epstein.

"These new photographs bring up more questions about precisely what the Justice Department has in its custody," stated the ranking member of the committee, Robert Garcia.

Contents in the Photographs Disclosed

Several of the photographs published on this week show Epstein in discussion with scholar and advocate Noam Chomsky inside a private jet; Bill Gates standing next to a individual whose identity is obscured; Steve Bannon positioned at a desk facing Epstein, and previous Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner gathering.

These are the most recent affluent, powerful individuals to be photographed in Epstein property photographs released by the House Oversight Committee - earlier published images also show US President Donald Trump and former president Bill Clinton, as well as director Woody Allen, former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, counsel Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and other figures.

Appearing in the photos is does not constitute indication of any wrongdoing, and several of the pictured individuals have asserted they were never implicated in Epstein's criminal activity.

In a announcement issued alongside the photograph disclosure, Lawmakers on the US House Oversight Committee said the Epstein estate did not supply explanatory details or timings for the images.

"Photographs were selected to provide the general populace with openness into a representative sample of the photos acquired from the property, and to give insights into Epstein's network and his exceptionally alarming activities," the statement states.

The release also contains multiple photographs of quotes from the Vladimir Nabokov book Lolita written in ink across different parts of a female's body, like her upper body, foot, hip, and spine. Lolita recounts the tale of a minor who was manipulated by a adult literature professor.

One quote from the novel inscribed across a female's chest reads, "Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue traveling of three steps down the roof of the mouth to alight, at three, on the teeth".

The release also contains a series of images of female travel documents and identification documents from countries globally, including Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

The majority of the information on the documents, such as identities and birth dates, is redacted but the House Oversight Committee stated in a announcement that the travel documents are associated with "women whom Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators were interacting with".

Another photograph shows Epstein seated at a desk intimately surrounded by three women whose faces have been obscured - one has her hand on Epstein's torso under his garment, and another individual is bending to look at a adjacent device. Epstein seems to be assisting the final person fasten a bracelet.

A further photo released is a image of digital messages from an unknown individual who says they have been provided "a number of girls" and are demanding "$$1,000 per girl".

Photo Disclosure Arrives Ahead of DOJ Deadline

The body has thousands of images in its possession from the Epstein property, which are "simultaneously explicit and everyday," its statement on this week explained.

The House Oversight Committee first issued a subpoena to the estate of Epstein, who passed away in a New York prison in 2019 while facing trial on charges of sex trafficking crimes, in August.

The photographs and records the Epstein property submitted to the panel are distinct from what is often termed "the Epstein files". That material are papers under the DOJ's control related to its independent probe into Epstein.

Under the recently passed law, which President Trump signed into law recently, the DOJ has a deadline of 19 December to disclose its files. The extent of the contents contained in the DOJ's files is not publicly known, and it's probable that a large amount of the material will be extensively obscured, similar to House Oversight Committee materials
