Los Angeles witnessed widespread celebrations after the Dodgers clinched a thrilling seven-game World Series championship. Supporters worldwide united with local residents in celebration, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a team has achieved back-to-back championships.
Victory Parade Attracts Massive Crowds
Los Angeles area celebrations included a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.
Social media videos show thousands of Angelenos packing city center avenues, many carrying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The team was seen traveling proudly on a double-decker bus through the masses, hoisting the championship trophy high.
“My focus is already about the third time we’re going to achieve this,” the star player stated through an translator.
The procession path ended at the stadium, where the team walked out to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard spinning music and Ice Cube driving a Pacific blue vintage Cadillac around the stadium’s outfield.

Celebrations started prior to the procession, with Dodgers fans lighting flares in the roads of the city center on Sunday night.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, awarded the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, commented plainly about the victory.

However, Mark Walter was met with a cooler reception at the celebration. Video footage from the gathering appear to show him taking the stage to a mix of cheers and boos, with jeers punctuating his address.
The championship served as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An estimated 225,000 people attended to the championship parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, supporters this year demonstrated equal or greater support.
“I feel like it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a part of this.”
